When Karl met Jo, there was only one husky on the scene. A move to Southland saw the first of many additions to keep him company.
While walking the two dogs early one morning, a member of the public stopped us to talk about the local sled dog club, something we had no idea existed. We decided to go along to one of the regular walks and quickly saw how much the dogs enjoyed it, as did we.
This was the start of the husky collection.
Our son, Jaden is growing up around the dogs and loves them as much as they love him. We are waiting for the day when he is old enough to help out, especially when it is raining!
Living in Southland we have access to some fantastic sled dog trails within a 15 minute drive from home. We train the dogs using scooters or rigs in all weather conditions, even at night.
When one of the dogs became very ill, almost dying, we became interested in what we were giving them not only during illness but also in everyday life. What we found lead us to changing a number of things with our dogs and we wanted to offer the same opportunity to other dog owners.
